The DMG Decarb Center is the only facility dedicated to educating HVAC Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC) professionals on how to reduce carbon footprints and lower energy consumption by designing and installing modern HVAC systems.
The new Center will bring together property owners and operators, architects and engineering consultants, installation and service contractors, students, and other trades to share information and ideas on building a better future.
The equipment featured at the new Center will showcase hydronic fan coil units, air handling units, radiant panels, and fan power chilled beams, allowing visitors to explore the system’s applications across various commercial buildings. DMG will continuously update its equipment as new technology evolves.
The Decarb Training Center is an extension of the partnership DMG has formed with ProspectSV and Flow ES to bring clean energy solutions to the marketplace. A California Energy Commission grant is underwriting The Flow ES equipment, with DMG providing matching funding in the form of public outreach and industry education. The first phase of the grant featured testing and validation of the Flow ES system by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s FLEXLAB.
FLOW
The centerpiece of our new hands-on training center is Flow’s ANSWR CO2 Heat Pump. This equipment is designed and manufactured for the demands of today and tomorrow.
Before the ANSWR system, transitioning many existing buildings from fossil fuel-burning boilers to all-electric heat pumps was not feasible. This technology overcomes numerous challenges, including the need to resize existing piping and coils, reuse existing electrical feed, and offers flexibility in siting, making it operable in all climates.
